Who We Are

Quadridge is a provider of sophisticated corporate services including the provision of independent directors and trustees and comprehensive company secretarial support. It utilises a pool of highly skilled directors, staff and consultants. Our team includes seasoned professionals with many years’ experience in structured finance and debt capital markets having worked at major banks and financial institutions in South Africa and the United Kingdom.

Our clients include regulated financial institutions, listed corporates and investment fund structures as well as privately owned entities.

Founding Executive Partner

David is a seasoned professional who has many years’ experience in the structured and debt capital markets. He has worked for a number of banks in South Africa and London. At one of the international banks David originated and structured one of the first cross border securitisation transactions in South Africa in 2000, a deal with a multi-national listed corporate and the notes being sold in the USA. David was the Legal Counsel for the Bond Exchange of South Africa before joining the structured finance unit at Moody’s where, from both the London and Johannesburg offices, he acted as lead analyst on many European and South African securitisation transactions. He was part of and eventually headed up the corporate services business unit at a global advisory, administration and family office firm responsible for the fiduciary and corporate administration services to structured finance, securitisation and related transactions. David is a director and chairman of numerous public companies in the debt capital markets industry including numerous which are listed on the JSE. David has previously been the Chairman of the South African Securitisation Forum. David holds BCom, LLB and LLM degrees from Wits as well as a Certificate in Advanced Company Law also from Wits.

Clarissa has over 10 years of experience within the corporate governance and company secretarial field, having previously provided company secretarial support services at a major South African law firm and within the Johannesburg office of a global advisory, administration and family office firm. Clarissa acts as the company Secretary for a number of listed entities as well as numerous other investment and operating entities. She is a director on various SPVs and operating entities as well as a Trustee on a bank empowerment vehicle.

Kurt has over 20 years experience within the financial services industry having held a number of positions across the banking, asset management and corporate fiduciary sectors.  These include the appointment as General Manager for a pan-african asset management company, head of corporate services for the South African offices of a global advisory, administration and family office firm and as the head of legal for a South African asset management company.

He holds a B Juris and LLB from the University of South Africa, an MBA from the University of Wales and an Executive MBA from the University of Cape Town’s Graduate School of Business.

Consultant

Phumelele completed his articles at Deneys Reitz and has worked as a director in the commercial departments of Edward Nathan Sonnenbergs and Werksmans. He has also been the General Counsel of a portfolio company of US based private equity firm Denham Capital. Phumelele’s work experience includes providing regulatory advice in the mining, energy, telecoms, aviation, rail, power plant project financing and development sectors. He has also drafted compliance and funding documentation including funding agreements. Phumelele was named by the International Financial Law Review (IFLR) as a Leading Lawyer in South Africa for Energy Law, Mining and Infrastructure Projects for the years 2013, 2014 and 2015. Phumelele has the following qualifications – BProc (University of KZN), LLM (Georgetown USA), MAP (Wits).

Gary is a chartered accountant with over 15 years experience having held a number of executive positions that include the appointment as chief financial officer at a pan African investment bank as well as a leading South African mutual bank.
He now runs his own boutique consultancy firm that renders strategic advisory and outsourced support services to a number of businesses across various industries.

Evelyn qualified as an Attorney and after practicing for a few years joined the banking industry for 24 years, holding many different senior positions; the last thirteen years of which was spent in securitisation in structured finance in the Debt Capital Markets. Evelyn also fulfilled the role as debt executive in respect of the debt sponsor role of the organisation for debt listings on the JSE. Prior to her time spent in Debt Capital Markets, she headed up Domestic Financial Institutions responsible for counterparty facilities, intermediary relationships and risk. Evelyn holds BProc, LLB degrees from Wits and a MSc – CCC from Hates Etudes Commerciales (HEC) in France, in association with the Saïd business School of Oxford University, UK.
